Beautiful Automobile City
The Danjiangkou Reservoir, as the largest artificial freshwater lake in Asia, is the core water source area for the Middle Route of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project. Its water quality is consistently maintained at or above Grade II standard, honored as a “Source of China’s Quality Water.”
Our Headquarters – Shiyan: China’s Auto City Beneath the Sacred Peaks
Shiyan, in northwestern Hubei Province, is widely known as “China’s Truck Capital” and the “Detroit of the East.” The city was born from the automobile industry—founded in 1969 alongside the construction of the Second Automobile Factory (now Dongfeng Motor), and grew into one of the largest commercial vehicle and auto parts clusters in China.
Today, Shiyan hosts the core production bases of Dongfeng Commercial Vehicles and Dongfeng Cummins (DCEC), along with hundreds of tier-1 and tier-2 parts manufacturers. It is recognized as the largest auto parts trading center in China, covering everything from engine blocks and transmission assemblies to brake systems, electrical parts, and consumables. For an international buyer, being based here means we are not a reseller several layers away from the factory—we operate inside the real supply ecosystem, able to source genuine and aftermarket parts, conduct piece-by-piece inspection, and dispatch shipments within days, not weeks.
The “Automobile City” is Shiyan’s third iconic feature. It is the birthplace and commercial vehicle base of the Dongfeng Motor Corporation, hosting over 1,000 vehicle and component enterprises. With an annual vehicle production capacity of 1 million units and an automotive industrial output value exceeding 150 billion yuan, Shiyan has earned the reputation of “China’s Commercial Vehicle Capital” thanks to its complete commercial vehicle industry system.
Shiyan was established and has thrived because of the automobile industry. While industry leaders like Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle continue to advance steadily, the city is actively embracing transformation. It is building world-leading smart factories, developing new products like hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks, and driving the automotive industry toward high-end, intelligent, and green transformation.
The Sacred Backdrop: Mount Wudang
Just southeast of the industrial zone rises Mount Wudang (Wudangshan), one of China’s most revered Taoist sacred mountains and a UNESCO World Heritage Site (inscribed in 1994 for its ancient architectural complex). Its peak, Tianzhu Peak, stands at 1,612 meters, surrounded by 72 cliffs and 36 rock caves in a “ten thousand peaks bowing to the summit” landscape.
Wudang is the cradle of Taichi (Taijiquan) and Wudang Kung Fu—founded by the Taoist master Zhang Sanfeng in the late Yuan and early Ming dynasties. The mountain’s palaces (Golden Summit, Purple Cloud Palace, South Cliff Palace) were built under Emperor Yongle’s decree in the 15th century with the phrase “Build the Forbidden City in the north, build Wudang in the south.” It remains a living center of Taoist ritual, martial arts, and traditional Chinese medicine—often called “the unmatched fairy mountain under heaven.”
A Touch of Primeval Nature: Shennongjia
To the west, Shiyan borders Shennongjia, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site, World Geopark, and Man-and-Biosphere Reserve. It preserves one of the last primeval subtropical forests at the same latitude on Earth—home to golden snub-nosed monkeys, ancient firs, and the legendary “wild man” folklore. This ecological buffer also guards the water source of the Middle Route of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project.
Why This Matters for Your Supply Chain
Shiyan is rare in the world: a city where assembly lines and Taoist peaks share the same horizon.
For us, that means:
- Zero-distance sourcing from Dongfeng & Cummins production lines
- Same-day access to genuine, OEM-equivalent, and hard-to-find parts
- Industrial discipline shaped by 50+ years of heavy-duty vehicle manufacturing
- A stable, export-experienced base far from coastal price volatility
When we say “Shiyan-based supplier,” it is not a postal address—it is a sourcing advantage.
Danjiangkou Water Conservancy
The water retaining structures 2.5 km chief of the dam, the largest dam height of 97 m, crest elevation 162 meters, the contents six generating units with an installed capacity of 900,000 kilowatts, the average capacity of 3.83 billion.
The project area of 95,200 square kilometers control basin, the total drainage area of 60%, with flood control, power generation, irrigation, shipping and aquaculture, and other comprehensive efficiency. Since the completion of the Danjiangkou water hub, the total flow of 1,000 cubic meters to retain peak / s floods more than 67 times, reduce downstream submerged 541 million mu of cultivated land, flood control benefits estimated 26.24 billion yuan, protection of the middle and lower reaches of the Hanjiang River flood control safety.
Danjiangkou Project is not only radical River, the key to the development of the Han River project, but also the best of the South-North Water Transfer Project water. September 26, 2005, South North Water Transfer Project water – water conservancy hub Danjiangkou dam project officially started construction. Danjiangkou Reservoir as a source of the center line water diversion project built by the late End scale, the top of the dam height will be increased to 175 meters, the normal water level from 157 meters up to 170 meters, and the corresponding increase in storage capacity can be 11.6 billion cubic meters, the recent annual water diversion 9500000000 cubic meters, up diverting water from the late 13 billion cubic meters.
